The Photographer

Chris Schwaiger

I am a wildlife photographer based in the Hohe Tauern, Austria. My work takes me from the alpine forests and peaks of my home region to wild places around the world. My subjects are the animals that most people never see up close — European bison, golden eagles, red deer, and large predators.

I do not chase decisive moments. I wait for them. My fieldwork is measured in days and weeks, not hours. I never bait, call, or disturb the wildlife I photograph.
